The Division of Probation and Parole District 8 is hiring for the position of Administrative Specialist II.
The Administrative Specialist II position is responsible for monitoring the administrative caseload by the entering and the managing of monthly reports in Kentucky Offender Management System (KOMS).
The position will complete record checks on each offender, communicate with offenders, offender families, Department of Correctional staff, various state's Department of Corrections staff, Probation and Parole offices and the Courts.
All communications should be accurate and organized.
This position will be trained.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ensure continued compliance with accreditation standards and correctional policies.
Enter fees payments and reporting notes in KOMS.
Review reports from courts and parole board Process required notifications to the courts, probation and parole officers and supervisors.
Assist with the daily correspondence received from KY field offices as well as the other 49 states and 3 territories.
Review new arrests.
Maintain all Policies and Procedures required for the KY Dept.
Of Corrections.
Complete and maintain required training associated with job duties.

Minimum Requirements EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Experience:
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary Period This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.
